Sport != tough.
By Amazon Customer

The phone has extremely sensitive glass on the front. When I think of sports I think tough so it is ironic to me that this phone is branded as a sports phone and it is so fragile. Mine fell out of my arm band while doing push ups from a height of approximately 18 inches and it completely shattered. This was 6 days after I activated it, so do not take it to the gym.

There is a design defect in that the the larger hole in the glass for the three protruding hard buttons leaves a 3/16 inch sliver of glass between the buttons and the edge of the phone that has the tinsel strength of not much more than an egg. The phone is advertised to be shock resistant but the screen is not. Sprint reps are nice enough, but they will not replace the phone. The manager told of a customer the week before that dropped theirs in the parking lot the day they purchased it and the screen broke. If you have insurance, replacement through Assurion is going to put you out another $200. Amazon has good replacement screens for the standard Galaxy S5's that are less than $10, but not for the Sport.

Other than the delicate screen and the hideous blue or red covers that cheapen the look of it, the phone is nice and has a lot more features than an iPhone. It doesn't have the fingerprint scanner which I didn't want. Battery life is unbelievable, the cameras and music players are excellent. This phone is chocked full of fitness stuff but unless you run or walk these just get in the way. Strength training apps have recurring costs. Overall, you can tell I do not recommend this phone. Get the standard Galaxy s5 if you are going to get an S5.

BTW - I bought my phone from Sprint on their web site. I wish I had checked for it on Amazon before I did. Amazon has always taken care of me.

Amazing battery life
By unsatisfied customer

I got s5 sport from Sprint store 2 days ago. So far i am very happy with this phone. I have s strange story. I got a s5 in April when it first released. I hated s5 because its battery life was awfull. I had to charge phone at least 2 times a day. I was surprised because everyone else was very happy with s5. Anywayds i gave it back and started to use my s3. I broke my s3 screen 4 days agoso i had to upgrade it. I was waiting for iPhone 6 to be honest. I got s5 sport. Battery life is amazing. I use it all day. At the end of the day i still has 35 %. Very smart phone. I likes sprint wifi call function. I work in a hospital and most of the time signal is very week. But with wifi call there is no problem anymore.
I will update my reviews in 1 month.

Sprint S5 Sport - cell reception is a severe disappointment
By Jack Gross

My Wife and I just got the phones on 8/22/14, upgrading both of our phones from the S3, and immediately noticed a severely degraded cell signal. We have two Sprint towers near our house (within 3-4 miles) that have been upgraded to provide the Sprint Spark service, which is supposed to enhance all aspects of the phone's capabilities. But still, the cell reception is terrible; usually only one bar or none at all. So I called Sprint and they went through several things to try and improve the signal reception from their end, but ultimately resorted to sending us the Airave 2.5 for our house, which is supposed to boost the cell signal in and around our home (up to 5000 sqft), but that too has proven to be a total disappointment as the cell signal only improved up to two or three bars, but only if the phone is forced to the settings of "Home" for roaming and "CDMA" only for mobile network, which then makes the phone nearly useless once we leave the house and we have to change those settings back to their previous state. All in all we like the new fitness features and the improved GUI, which would have made this a great WiFi tablet, but as a phone I give this model a rating of 1.

Excellent phone with great features

Excellent phone with great features. The Sport edition has some great benefits, especially if you're concerned about your thumbprint scan spreading throughout the internet, as it does not have the thumbprint scanning security feature. It has physical buttons to be more water resistant.

Love this phone!

Had the galaxy 3, loved it, but needed a faster processor and wanted to upgrade for more bells and whistles. Ordered the HTC one M8, loved the speakers on the front, hated the camera and being limited to only 4 screens to customize. Got this one instead, absolutely love everything about it! Sound is better than the g3, camera gained a few mp I believe, much faster with all I put on it, great bells and whistles! Very happy!

Good upgrade from S3.

Coming from an S3, this S5 Sport is much more responsive, and battery lasts a lot longer. Only issue is finding cases for it, since it is slightly different size then the regular S5.

Sleek and pretty
By Amazon Customer

First, I bought mine through Sprint... I just received this phone this week after breaking the screen on my Galaxy S3. I love the Samsung products... in the family we have Note 3 and 7 and Tab 7. So excited for this one. It is early and I'll try to update after using a while. I like the new look to the Settings menu. I like that there are actual buttons for home, back and menu, not touch pad. The battery is lasting way longer than my S3. I haven't been able to find any cases or accessories except on Sprint site, so hoping that there are some available soon. It has a pedometer app, but without an armband or such it is only counting steps from my purse. I have not tested the water resistance. I am sure I will drop it at some point (see previous statement re: S3 death).
